In search of the optimal technique The determinants of ski technology are constantly changing. And it is FIS that will introduce new regulations regarding the ski sidecut, their structural radius, and the designers will use new materials that will change the dynamics or directional rigidity of the skis. These changes are and will be the basis for the development of new solutions in driving technology. Whoever takes advantage of this opportunity even slightly, will gain an advantage over competitors. It seems that the skiers will discover these innovations in practice, and the trainers may possibly tell them to check. This way of working with the raiders will not differ depending on whether it concerns the championship or club level. It will always be necessary to have a good agreement and communication between the skier and the coach. You will need to use the tools: motion camera video analysis, preferably at different playback speeds and with different ways of filming. Computer software supporting analysis and analysis of snow tracks will be useful. It is indisputable that the driving technique must be individually adapted to the individual skier, taking into account his physical characteristics. Hence the creative and in their own way a skier-coach partnership is the key here. In my opinion, cooperation with other trainers and individual consultations is in the interest of both the skier and the coach. It may seem like it is provoking you to reveal your skills, but in my opinion such action brings more benefits than reveals its own secrets. So I encourage you to arrange individual training sessions with other coaches. Let's remember: the racer is the creator and performer - the trainer is his adviser! Both parties should understand and accept this relationship well. Boguslaw Nowakowski
